One Serambi Cafe at Bukit Jelutong

Hi folks.

Following my entry on Zawara Coffee, here another entry on yet another exciting cafe at Bukit Jelutong. This area is still under ongoing development so expect more new restaurants to open soon. This cafe located just behind the street where Mozer's is located. Embracing the cafe culture + kopitiam theme, One Serambi Cafe adds to another growing list of places to eat in Bukit Jelutong.

The interior concept really paid tribute to Bukit Jelutong with picture collection of streets in Bukit Jelutong hanged on the wall.

We were welcomed warmly by the owner & co-owner & had a friendly chat with them. Food served here consists of asian & western which focus more on western. Apart from savory, they have cakes & desserts as well. Their Squid Ink Pasta certainly not disappointing. The pasta itself was well seasoned & loaded with mussels, prawns & squids. Cherry tomatoes are added for more taste.

They serves burger as well but limited to Chicken and Lamb Burger. Of course i will opt for Lamb Burger. The owner claimed that they made the patty & sauce from scratch. Lamb Burger with cheese sauce sounds like a nice combination. The patty was nice & not overly seasoned & juicy as well. The sauce was creamy but a bit feint in taste as the cheese taste appeared quite late. The mushroom slices added the extra taste for this meal.

Lamb Burger

For asian selection, although not much but this dish here is really an eye catcher. White Rice served with a bowl of sauteed vegetables & a whole fried ikan Siakap with homemade crispy chili paste. The fish was nicely cooked. Chili paste was nicely spicy & sweet & crispy with the presence of dried shrimp & fried onion. Really worth it!

Asian Selection

Our dinner won't be complete without the presence of desserts. We had their signature Nutella Cheese cake, creme brulee & churros. The cake was really nice and apparently customer's choice. Topped with nutella spread with cheese base sitting on top of crunchy chocolate base.

Their creme brulee is nice as well. Not too sweet like some other places & the custard thick & creamy enhanced by vanilla essence.

Creme Brulee

Lastly, the churros. It's been one of my favorite desserts & it seems that almost every cafe are serving this spanish dish. Perfectly fried with no excessive oil, the crust was crunchy & dusted with icing sugar. I love the dipping sauce especially chocolate ganache. The bittersweet taste of the chocolate just goes perfectly well with the churros.

Here, they served breakfast meal as well. The owner said their croissant is one of their best sellers & baked daily. Gotta try them next time.
