After my previous visit to Huckleberry fortnight ago, we've been thinking about revisiting especially since we still haven't tasted the pasta, burger, sandwiches & soup. During weekdays or working days, parking would be a bit difficult to find. So avoid coming during peak lunch hour.
This time, we ordered Duck Bacon & egg pasta, moroccan chicken soup & Chicken pie. First up, the soup as appetizer. Almost similar with minestrone soup with tomato base but a bit thick. Soup were filled with a dash of cream, diced chicken meat, tomatoes & chick peas. It was quite refreshing with the tomato flavor not too strong. Served with a slice of bread.
Moroccan Soup
The pasta was decent. Served with diced duck bacon & a poached egg on top. The trick of getting the best out of this dish is by breaking the egg to let the yolk mix with the pasta & eat it whole. The sweetness provided by the shallots & duck bacon gives that extra edge to this dish.
Duck bacon & egg pasta
Huckleberry boasted with nice selection of baking goods so it's no surprise to see pie on the menu. The chicken pie was excellent. Soft yet crunchy pie crust with nice creamy filling of chicken & mushroom. A must try!
