Frisky Goat & Kulcats Barrio at TTDI KL

TTDI have been one of the food haven for foodies. From local to western, restaurant to cafe, this area have it all. Even if one place shut down, there surely will be a new place open to replace the old one. Recent food hunters festival enhanced this place reputation even more.

Frisky Goat is one of the popular place to have a breakfast. They not only offer food like waffles, pasta but also homemade pastries. Don't worry, lunch & dinner served here as well with plenty of promising dishes. Recently they announced a new menu launched for 2015 starting this month so me, my sis & mom went there for dinner, 1st time!

Even during dinner, the place was fully occupied so we had sit outside. After browsing the menu, we decided to go for Pasta Alla Putanesca, Ciao Bella Pizza & Chicken Ballotine.

The menu

Pasta Alla Putanesca arrived first. You can choose either spaghetti, linguine or angel hair. Pasta cooked with olive oil, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, slices of garlic, anchovies, squids & prawns. It was a very good pasta. Similar to Aglio Olio but with a touch of anchovies which added some edge to the dish. It was their house special after all.

Next to arrive was Ciao Bella Waffle Pizza. The aroma was very pleasant. Crispy waffle topped with beef pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, with oozy mozzarella cheese. The base sauce was very delicious as well. But beware, the waffle will be soggy if you didn't finish it quickly because the base sauce will be absorbed by the waffle.

Finally, the Chicken Ballotine. Deboned Chicken stuffed with spinach & cheese on a bed of mashed potatoes, mixed diced veggies & sauce. The mashed potatoes was a bit bland but goes well when mixed with the sauce; a light tomato based with hint of sweetness. The chicken cooked well as well.

After the dinner, my sis & mom felt like eating dessert so we drove to the nearby Kulcats Barrio, another place that often crowded even after peak hours. This place offered western food mostly with a various choice of desserts. My mom & sis ordered their mud pie. The mud pie made of warm open top chocolate pie, topped with a scoop vanilla ice cream & drizzled with choc & caramel sauce. It was heavenly & sinfully good.

Both places most lightly crowded during meal time except for Kulcats Barrio during lunch. It is best to book a table a day before at Kulcats or risk of queuing for a table. As for Frisky Goat, the brunch hours are the most heavy.
